Roundtable Workshops

Thank you for hosting!

Roundtables are a core component of the program and will take place each day during the afternoon workshop for 1 hour. These will be closed-door sessions for a select group of multinational corporations and financial institutions, partners, and sponsors (capped at 200 attendees). The event hosts will work with your team to determine a topic and format that best reflects your areas of interest while aligning with the overall program. Workshop descriptions can be found on the event website (Day 1 and Day 2). Prior to the event, the event hosts will meet with speakers to discuss the format and provide guidance on best practices for facilitating small group discussions.

Logistics

Timing: All roundtables will be hosted on Oct 24 (2:35 - 3:45 pm) and Oct 25 (2:00 - 3:10pm) during a 3-hour workshop.

Format: Hosts will lead two 30-minute discussions. Attendees will select a table for the first 30 minutes and then switch to a second table. We have included an extra 10 minutes for transition time.

Signups: There is no advance sign up - participation is first come, first served and we will not be scanning attendees of the individual roundtables so we will not be able to send attendee information to sponsors. Please note attendees must have an All-Access pass in order to attend the workshop.

Session info: There will be a placard on each table with the table host’s name, organization and roundtable title. Roundtable information will also be available on the event website and conference app for attendees to see before and during the event.

Feedback: Our conference app contains a survey feature — please encourage your participants to provide feedback following your session. Just have them click into your session on the app and click on the survey button. You can request your session feedback from your customer success manager after the event.

What Makes a Great Roundtable?

🎯 Focus on Action: Conversations should be focused on action by sharing case studies, models that are applicable for other companies, and/or working towards common solutions.

💬 Interactive Discussions: These are conversations, not pitches. Plan to share your story, model or approach for 5-10 minutes at the start of each conversation, and spend the remaining time facilitating a discussion and answering questions from participants.

📋 Materials: You can bring materials if desired, but this is not required. Some speakers are planning to bring a laptop to share a few images or maps, while others are considering bringing a handout with key takeaways.

🚫 No PowerPoint Presentations: Please do not prepare a presentation, as it will be difficult for participants to follow along from across the table and is not conducive to the conversational approach we are using.

🧞 Dive Right In!: Plan to dive right into your topic. Do not spend time making a case for nature, as attendees will have already heard plenary talks that make this case. Assume they are ready to get into "how" and are already on board with "why."
